In the past couple of years we have seen a ton of bloggers publishing books. This move from a digital to traditional publishing model has sparked endless conversation in the digital space.
A year ago I landed a book agent because of a project that I had started on my blog. I have slowly been trying to figure out what my book might look like and wading through the many questions that I have had along the way.
What does a book proposal look like? How much of an advance can I expect? How can I be a successful author? How do I get the attention of a big publisher?
I am fortunate to be good friends with a number of both published and self-published authors. I have spent hours picking their brain and trying to figure out what I wanted to do.
A couple of weeks ago Danielle LaPorte and Linda Silversten released Your Big Beautiful Book Plan–a book & workbook combo that includes book proposals that landed six-figure advances with top literary agents and advice from best-selling authors including Tim Ferris and Gretchen Rubin. This program also includes over eight hours of audio and video interviews with agents and high-profile authors.
I reached out to Danielle to see if I could review a copy of Your Big Beautiful Book Plan. I have spent the past year researching the publishing arena and asking countless questions so I was curious to see if the program really lived up to all of its hype.
I spent the past two days digging through the material and still have so much more to go. When I began writing my book a good friend and published author shared her book proposal with me so I could get a sense of what I needed to create. Without that road map I would have no idea what I needed to include in a book proposal.
Your Big Beautiful Book Plan walks you through every step of the publishing process and answers your questions along the way. You learn how to write a query letter, understand the market, create a successful marketing plan, leverage your books to further your career and so much more.
The investment is a little high on this e-book but the quality of content in this program really lived up to my expectations. I guarantee that you will never need to read another book about becoming a published author. This has answers to literally every question you might have. I highly recommend this for anyone who has an idea for a book and is serious about writing one.
Now I want to hear from you!
What resources have you found to be most helpful for writers? What books do you recommend? What are your must read blog posts?

Thanks for the review, Cassie. I purchased this on launch day and have been amazed at how much content there is. Looking forward to digging into this more.
I have thought about writing a book, but haven’t even begun to do any research and it sound like this would be a great place to start when I am ready.
I’ve been going back and forth about perhaps signing up for the Pathfinder Day at BlogHer ’12 related to writing a book. Wish these ladies were leading the session.
Thanks for sharing.
