During the video panel at the Mom 2.0 Summit we asked Rob Morhaim of DECA, an executive producer behind Momversation, how many video views the show averaged. They’ve chosen to keep mum until now – going so far as to remove view counter options from all videos hosted on Blip.tv since the series launched in November 2008.
Rob’s answer: they just crossed the 20 million mark (mazel tov!) and their sponsor Target remains very happy.
Knowing the series produces 3 shows a week that would equate to roughly 90,000 views per episode. However, since certain hot topics are sure to bring in more views it’s likely a few videos average much higher in terms of engagement than the rest, making it hard to determine the number of views for a typical episode.
The largest chunk of Momversation views is undoubtedly coming from Dooce, whose Vimeo videos pull in over 50K a pop.
{Note: DECA’s their other properties include Smosh, the web video series hosted by 20 year old friends that has logged an astonishing 345 million views.}
