Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores, the largest fabric and craft chain in the U.S., have launched a spring craft campaign featuring several prominent craft designer bloggers, or as Jo-Ann calls them “some of the most talented and trend-setting individuals in the crafting community.”
The campaign features stars of the crafting community Kathy Cano-Murillo (Crafty Chica), Erika Domesek (P.S. I Made This), Drew Emborsky (The Crochet Dude), Cathie Filian, Jenny Hart (Sublime Stitching), Vickie Howell, Jennifer Perkins (Naughty Secretary Club), Margot Potter (The Impatient Crafter), and Susan Winget.
The designers have each contributed an exclusive craft project sheet to the campaign, which are available at Joann.com or in three-sided store displays that feature the designers’ headshots and short bios. Hart said, “You know you’ve made it when your likeness appears on cardboard.”
Filian, who is a successful TV producer and host of craft show Creative Juice and an upcoming web series (Plaid Craft TV) for craft manufacturer Plaid, wrote about her history with Jo-Ann. One of her first jobs was at a Jo-Ann store when she was 16, so she was excited when she was chosen to be a part of this campaign: “I was thrilled beyond belief and so honored to be included with my other creative friends.”
“Kudos to Jo-Ann for reaching out to several independent designers,” said Hart, who along with Perkins and Howell is also one of the founding members of the Austin Craft Mafia. “I’m thrilled to be a part of the craft community that [Jo-Ann is] featuring,” said Howell.
