Mercedes Benz Fashion Week is offering something a little different this year. For the first time “Strut: The Fashionable Mom Show” will hit the runway.
The show will take place Thursday, February 16, on the last day of Fashion Week, at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center. It and will showcase real and celebrity moms rocking affordable and contemporary fashion. You won’t see mom jeans on this catwalk!
Two hundred people are expected to attend the multimedia event. Moms and other curious minds can tune in to a digital live-stream, a live Twitter feed and real-time blogging. Fans can tweet #STRUTMOMVIP for a chance to win a front row seat to the show.
“We want to provide moms with fashion ideas that will show them how to be fashionable within the activities of their everyday life… you know – work, playdates, date night, soccer games, grocery shopping (and everything else in between!),” said Audrey McClelland, one of the moms involved with Strut.
The force of women behind this fashionable mom show are Denise Albert and Melissa Gerstein, the founders of The Moms, Audrey McClelland and Vera Sweeney, founders of Getting Gorgeous, Holly Pavlika of Big Fuel, and Stephanie Winston Wolkoff.
