Much was made of the positive, family-friendly feel and the picturesque location atop the Wasatch Mountains.
For bloggers who could not attend EVO ’11, and even to help refresh the memories of those who were in attendance, conference organizers have made live-blog posts and UStream recordings available for a growing number of sessions. Attendees are also creating a central link-up of recap posts, and there is an EVO group Flickr feed, EVO Conference Facebook photo albums, and the #evoconf hashtag on Twitter to provide feedback and perspective from the weekend.
A quick tour through the #evoconf hashtag and recap posts brings up some popular themes and memories from EVO ’11, including:
*a surprise wedding proposal during the opening IGNITE sessions
*pool jumping, an annual tradition at EVO
*Chef Jeffrey Saad of Cooking Channel’s “United Tastes of America” leading Saturday’s food workshop, sponsored by Bush’s Beans
*Johnson & Johnson interviewing bloggers about Social Media for Social Good (also done at this year’s Mom 2.0). Video interviews can be found on the Youtube JNJ Health Channel
*the “SEO for Bloggers” session by eBay’s Director of SEO, Dennis Goedegebuure. Many found this hands-on, 3-hour workshop to be of great value, and now Dennis has made his material – including slides – available on his site.
*professional head shots offered by conference sponsor Kudos
*the closing keynote offered by photographer Me Ra Koh, which left a profound impact on many. A recording of the keynote is available on UStream.
Registration has already opened for EVO ’12 with Super Early Bird pricing available until September 1st. The conference will again be held in Park City next year, during the weekend of July 12-14. Stay tuned to the EVO conference website for more details.
