Don’t Breastfeed In Paul Frank Stores

It seems breastfeeding is the hot topic again tonight in the blogosphere… this time after a tweet (that was then deleted) came out of the Paul Frank LA store. Lots of retweets captured the original words: Having your whole boob out and breastfeeding in our store #NOTOKAYATALL

Paul Frank was bombarded with retweets and responses such as:

paul frank breastfeeding everyone wants to see your boob til a baby is attached paulfrank_la tweet

After deleting the tweet, the unprepared person behind Paul Frank’s Twitter account sent out a half-ass apology:

We expect many blog posts to come.

The ball is essentially in their court. The best case scenario is for them to sincerely apologize and then to have some frank (pun intended) conversations with moms.

We think it’d be clever for them to do a line of nursing covers:

Love of Moments With Love says: “I hope they can muster a little better apology.  Maybe even a hip, new campaign with a mom breastfeeding.  ; )  I’m all ears, Paul Frank.”

UPDATE: Paul Frank has officially responded and issued a heartfelt apology

Made them uncomfortable? Then stop staring!

  2. Thank you for covering this. Those remarks were completely uncalled for.

  3. Alison says:

Haha at least they didn’t try to kick the poor woman out. How rude though… and this is why I hate Nursing in Public. Assholes.

I like the nursing cover though haha.

  4. Sarah Burns says:

OMG, nursing covers would be awesome! Why didn’t they think of that?!

  5. Nursing covers are horrendous enough, we don’t need any more giant paisley aprons on the market. Nothing screams, “HEY EVERYONE, I’VE GOT MY BOOB OUT AND I’M BREASTFEEDING A BABY OVER HERE!!!!” louder than a nursing cover.

  6. Missy B says:

Wow, people don’t think before they tweet sometimes!

  7. Now that is a good idea and a viable solution everyone could proceed with. Maybe even some of the proceeds going to the Donate Breast Milk project. Take Lemons and make Nursing Covers. This is why we need to pay closer attention to the dynamic between experienced strategist and not so experienced intern executionists in digital media!

This should in now way be associated with the wonderful, kind and true artist, Paul Frank. The originator of the brand has had the company, Paul Frank even named after him taken right out from under him. “Paul Frank” the brand is no longer associated with the wonderful Paul Frank the craftsman and artist, who is now creating a new company under a different name.

  9. Jstn says:

Why should women have to wear nursing covers like they are doing something shameful? That’s what boobs are made for.

    Get over it!!!!

Btw, Innerwizdom’s comment was brilliant. LOL – Jstn
