Leah Segedie is well-known online for being a champion of health and fitness, especially for women and mothers. Her Mamavation campaigns have helped more than a dozen women lose more than 237 pounds combined, and Segedie herself is a weight-loss success story, having lost 170 pounds over three years and two pregnancies.
In her newest venture, Segedie has teamed up with makers of the George Foreman Grill and 10 bloggers to participate in a 90 day “George Foreman Knock Out the Fat Weight Loss Challenge.”
More than 150 bloggers applied for the 10 available spots; Segedie announced the official program Ambassadors last week. They are:
- Shelly Oswald, @momma_oz
- Lori Gutierrez, @gutimom
- Amanda O’Dair, @beeacutie2
- Laila McCloud, @OnlyLaila
- Heather Underwood, @notdiyheather
- Tonya Staab, @TonyaStaab
- Lena Burkut, @elenka29
- Heather Sokol, @JustHeather
- Alicia Peiffer @aliciamarie112
- Dwan Perrin, @MommaDJane
Participants each received a George Foreman Grill, a professional nutrition plan from Registered Dietician Alysa Bajenaru, and suggested exercise circuits from fitness motivator and cheerleader, Stephanie Hamm.
From now through August 6, the bloggers are required to use the George Foreman Grill to cook five meals per week, follow the nutrition and exercise plans given to them, and through a combination of blog posts, pictures, videos, tweets, and Facebook, keep followers updated about their experiences and weight loss.
The resources and accountability are just what blogger Dwan Perrin needed, and the reason she applied to be an Ambassador in the first place. In an interview with ShePosts, she said:
I want to learn how to eat healthier. I wasn’t raised that way, we always ate out growing up. I am learning how to meal plan healthy meals, how to match correct Fats, Fruits, Protein, Milk, etc. and how to calculate what I should take in and how much exercise I need.
I also want to turn fat inches into muscle and feel better. Over the last year I’ve put on ten lbs and working from home has me sitting on my butt a lot, going to Gab’s doc appts and eating too much fast food, I just feel bad. So this holds me accountable and teaches me the right ways to be healthy that are easy and taste good.
Each blogger will be compensated $250 for their time at the conclusion of the challenge.
The Ambassadors are supporting each other and keeping followers updated at the hashtag #knockoutthefat on Twitter.
